Renovation of Listed Basement, Edinburgh

This basement flat is located in a Grade A Listed tenement in Edinburgh's New Town, which is a conservation area and a World Heritage Site. The owner wanted to increase the usable space internally by knocking two structural walls to create a large open plan area around the Kitchen. We also changed a rear facing window into a French door, giving one of the bedrooms direct access to the common garden at the back of the flat.

Capital A Architecture Ltd. prepared successful Planning, Listed Building and Building Warrant Applications. We also provided project management while the project was under construction.

The Renovation was completed in March 2010.
