House Extension Feasibility Study Edinburgh

This feasibility study shows a two storey timber clad extension to an end-terrace house in suburban, South Edinburgh. The existing house is on a large, triangular, corner site and the client is keen to utilise as much space as possible without compromising the rear garden. This study shows the terrace being extended, a garage incorporated into the building and a new master bedroom upstairs. The new kitchen to the rear has a full height glazed wall, with a study space accessible from the master bedroom, overlooking the dining area. The timber cladding on the external walls is echoed in the garden decking and boundary fence, this will ground the new building by blurring the distinction between landscape and architecture.
